Beginning of Year

8/24/18

For a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing as for many other educators, having a successful start depends on being organized.  One of our major initial responsibilities is ensuring that all of our students’ teachers and service providers are aware of their accommodations and how the amplification works before the students show up.  Here’s a tip to help these teacher in-services get off to a smooth start.  Yes – chocolate!

When you bring it out, you will see instant smiles and teachers will remember you!  Treats do not have to be as fancy as this.  Think mini bags of M&Ms, bottles of water, homemade cookies or muffins.

This time of year can be stressful  for teachers because they have to be setting up their classrooms, attending endless meetings, learning about and being ready to implement new curricula and at the same time meeting with specialists.  A treat shows the teachers you are cognizant and appreciative of their responsibilities and time constraints.
